Your child is a beginner in karting - which equipment should he/she choose?

Your child has just had a taste of karting and would like to do it regularly. At Karting Eupen, the necessary equipment is available, often free of charge.

However, you will soon want to have your own equipment. After all, not all other tracks offer protective equipment. So you quickly ask yourself what you can buy and in what order.

In order to spread out your purchases over time, here is a chronological list of what you can buy:

1° The Karting helmet

If there is one thing we want to have quickly, it is a karting helmet! And this mainly for a question of hygiene.
To begin, we advise you the Karttech helmet. You are sure to find a karting helmet in your size because it is available in 10 sizes!

If you want a colored helmet, then the LS2, available in two colors, is perfect. In addition to the transparent visor, it has a second smoke inside for the sun!

Later on, if he drives a lot, you can go for the Bell KC7 or Arai CK6 karting helmets.

2° Karting gloves

In order to have a good grip on the steering wheel and thus to improve its performances, you quickly wish to acquire a pair of gloves.

Alpinestars has specially designed a pair of gloves at a reasonable price. Available in several colors: black, red, turquoise, orange and yellow!

3° Protections (neck brace and rib protectors)

After these two purchases, and as not all tracks provide free protections, we advise you to buy a neck brace and a rib protector.

For the neck brace, entry level, you will have the Alpinestars or Sparco neck brace. In both cases, you can be sure that the safety will be assured! Do you want a neck brace that will last for years? Then the brand new Alpinestars neck brace, available in yellow or black, will give you full satisfaction.

You can choose between the Alpinestars rib protector (identical to the one available at Karting Eupen) and the FreeM aluminum rib protector. Again, no need to worry about safety, the choice will be more about the design.

4° Karting shoes

Now that hygiene and safety are behind us, it's time to think about pure performance!

The advantage of karting shoes comes from their lightness, their close fit and the very thin sole which allows to optimize the sensations on the pedals. In karting, it's all about precision. A good feeling on the pedals will allow you to go for the last seconds or even tenths of a second.

All shoes are available from size 34. If your child is a smaller size, then Alpinestars also offers the Tech-1 KS (example in black/red) in sizes 30 and 32.

5° Karting suits

If there is one thing that the suit will bring your child is comfort! Thanks to the material used, the air vents and the flexible zones, your child will feel perfectly at ease in a suit!

From 1m30, the minimum height for karting in Eupen, you will find a size that will suit your child such as the Alpinestars KMX9 V2. At Sparco, there is also the Rookie in entry level.

As an indication, under the suit you simply put underwear, a t-shirt and a rib protector.
